I created Kaki Activewear while working as an in-gym nutritionist. I was struck by how many people were struggling with their mental health, and it made me stop and think: How can I truly help?

Somewhere along the way, we swapped the outdoors for screen time and gym walls and frankly, we've all become 'too soft.'

More and more of us are losing that raw feeling of swimming in lakes, getting dirt under our fingernails, falling off our bikes, and hiking in the rain... and it's this disconnect from nature that is taking a massive toll on our well-being.

Kaki Activewear is about one thing: Staying Active in Nature. We focus on physical, mental, social, and spiritual health—not just a physique in a mirror.

Growing up as a small-town farm girl, I was always connected to the land. But I still managed to get myself lost in an Auckland office job. Ironically, Kaki was already running with the slogan ‘Stay Active in Nature’ at the time, yet there I was—disconnected and feeling the pressure to prioritize a 'career' over the things that actually made me feel alive. It took a leap of faith to throw in the towel and move back to the South Island as a tour guide. That move reminded me that my reset button was always outdoors.

Now, whether I’m running, fishing, or surfing, the outdoors is where I find my clarity and energy. That’s what I want for you.
